I got my ass kicked by a Strength Coach..

A few days ago, I took my first trip to somewhere further than our local shops! And I got my ass kicked with a workout challenge from Hell thanks Reece @mindmusclemotive!


I was actually quite anxious to be outside as I have been very good at adapting to life from home but my favourite workout buddy has been making me jealous of his home gym and threatening me with a workout challenge.. I do love a challenge and if I'm being honest it was a great excuse to get out... finally!


I was also so excited to finally be seeing one of my old pals in the flesh and needing to defeat the challenge, outweighed the fear of not wanting to venture out.

I've known Reece since way back when we were both fresh to the PT scene and bonded over barbells and circuit training. From there we would cover each others circuit classes and then, when we finally spread our freelance wings, we seemed to follow each other around the city seeing our own clients and having 'business catch up meetings' to keep each other focused and feeling good about life.


Reece has a different style of training to me, he loves big weights and big biceps so I knew that I (specialising in light-med weight HIIT style) was definitely going to 'feel it' I haven't picked up a barbell since the gym closed back in March 2020 and being with this hotshot, I knew it wasn't going to be a 'nice' workout!


This guy had me doing Back Squats, Bench Presses, Pull-ups (I'm not joking) Press Ups and a hefty round of weighted abs to finish off.


My bum felt it in the first round, I knew I was in trouble but PT Pressure is real and I did my best poker face through every rep - not sure how good it was though.

Reece saved the best for last when he started telling me we were going to do Pull Ups - I did cry then!


When I thought we were done - he pulls out the Ab Finisher - a mix of weighted crunches and planks!


I made Reece a promise after I finally stopped whining about how much my arms hurt that I would make him pay, the next time I see Reece - he has to workout MY WAY... and I won't be holding back!


My muscles were sore for days! Seeing as Reece went for a total body workout - there was not one part of me that didn't pay to complete his challenge!
