Posture Corrections: Hips

Hi there, I am Leeza - The Health & Confidence Coach. I am here to talk about the importance of looking after our bodies through movement and posture work.

Today we are talking about posture corrections for the Hips. Correcting your posture can greatly reduce painful hips that are stiff, sore and achy.

Consistent incorrect posture is teaching your body to hold itself in a way that is wasn't designed for. If your hips are out of alignment it causes stress on your back, knees, ankles and even upper back pain. Your hips are the central piece of your body, they balance weight evenly into the legs and hold your weight evenly on top.

Lets say you carry weight on one side of your body all the time (baby on the hip, handbag or bag over the same shoulder) your hips lean to one side and that leg becomes dominant, over time this creates tension on the tendons, the uneven weight balance will lead to overcompensation and you pay for it with stiff, sore and achy back, hips and legs (sciatic pain - dull ache that runs down one side of the leg).

Suffering with hip pain everyday is sure to lead to a miserable mood, especially if you are dealing with it daily.

watch this video to see how you can easily check if your hips are in alignment.

Aligned hips mean better posture, good posture means that you are holding your body in the way in which it was designed. People who have good posture experience less every day aches and pain.
